They look good ...
I'd prefer to have some protection under there that's not plastic ....
Seems a bit silly that Suzuki would put Plastic Protection Plates on a 4WD!!
Just another example of Suzuki losing the plot ...
Will be ok though ... given a bit of time and money, I'll have the car that Suzuki 'SHOULD' have built ...

Wow I'm surprised actually that you had a problem. I've done some decent mud/water and have not had any problem with mine. Someone was saying that earlier models of the 06 had a different intake. What does your intake look like coatsey?
fordy1 : I'll be emailing you today. BTW hows the site going? Any update on when it will be back up?

Hey Metatrox,
My Air Intake is mounted forward where the bonet meets the grille ... and facing out. It's shaped like a scoop ... so it would be sucking in air straight above and through the front grille. (The the left of the Suzuki 'S' symbol).
Not the best design ...

Wow .. That's pretty serious stuff ...
I don't think the water I went through was that long or that deep ...
Maybe I was just really unlucky to have had the problem.
I did hit it with some speed though ... maybe that was the difference ...
Looks very cool though
What else have you done?? ...
Also, is your car modded at all??

I would say you are very lucky you had no problem
, the air intake is the same and is the best way to suck water offroad. good onroad for the engine but is a disaster waiting to happen offroad.
The website is still down and the so called tech poeple say they cant see a problem, one day working next nothing!!
im very pissed off!!!!!
anyway still trying to fordge ahead.

coatsey : Yeah I was moving with quite a bit of speed and force also. The splashes wouldn't be that high if i wasn't. hah!
What else have you done??
If you mean off road? Just random stuff nothing else quite like that. If you check out metatrox.net and look at the newest news post about the "mini mud run" video you can see the latest stuff I've done with the GV.
I have the 2.125" Lift Kit from RRO and 31" Cooper discoverer S/T tires. No other mods for off-road.
I have several other mods, Chrome dash kit, indash dvd/screen, 15.3" Flipdown screen in back, 10" Infinity sub and amp, magnaflow muffler exhaust, other things to come soon though.
fordy1 : I guess I am quite lucky then...
Well i hope your site gets up here soon. Perhaps new hosting? I personally use Liquidweb.com A little spendy but amazing uptime.

Watched the Mud Run ... looks pretty cool ... lots of spinning wheels ...
31's or 32's are definately something I want to do ... would make the car look good too

Yeah the 31's make it look much more aggressive with out by gaudy. Although If i had a larger lift then I would have bigger tires.

Yeah ... I think I'll go 32's
I've just dropped the car off at Suzuki so they can check it all out ...
They;re going to do a full service, change the oil and the oils and air filters.
Also they'll check out that weird whine I'm getting when I go over 60Km/H.
It only makes the noise while under power though ... take your foot off the accelerator and the noise stops ... put your foot back on and the noise returns :(
Hope all is ok.

If your only going with the 2.125" lift then you'll probably be really pushing it with the 32's Like I said before if I crank the wheel I get rubbing. Plus during snow and mud conditions its packs in the wheel well really badly. If you can get them then cool but don't be surprised if you rub a lot.
fordy1 : Thats good to hear!

I'm getting a 2" Suspension lift along with the 2.125" RR Kit ... So I'm hoping I can go a little bit bigger ...
I'm just looking forward to lifting it the 4.125" ... That should really increase my off-road capabilities
I '
may' even be able to go bigger than 32's ... but I'll need to check that out when the lifts are done ...
Needless to say ... I can't wait!!

Where are you getting the suspension lift from? i would be very interested in this also. I don't think I'll go bigger tires but more lift is cool!

There is a company in Penrith here in New South Wales producing it for me ... it was sourced by Sutherland Off Road who are going to install it ...
I'm not sure if it's a one off or whether they will make more, but I'll try and find out for you ....

Got the car back from service today ... they found water in the diffs (especially the front) ... and drained them both and replaced the oil.
But the damn whine is STILL THERE!!
Everything else is fine with the car ... but the noise I get from the Driveline above 60Km/h is REALLY annoying ...
Looks like I'll have to take it back to Suzuki again ...
Hope it's nothing major.

It's going back to Suzuki on Tuesday ... Mentioned that it might be a problem with the diff bearings ...
Hope I don't have to change the gear set
