TV

Post by Hobzee »

Yes the idea is that we are putting ourselves in front of the cameras rather than getting the cameras to come to us.

This execise might become a regular feature at the Easter event at Mt Panorama and we are using it as a promo for the Cliffhanger in getting media and spectator attention.

I reckon Justanissan might get up to 160 clicks going down Conrod. Going up to Skyline might be a bit slower. Brian

sponsors

Post by Hobzee »

We are close to finalising sponsors for 09 and I shall soon get Rudes to list them all with links, etc. We certainly do appreciate everyone's contributions.

Special mention of thanks go to Daniel at Silverstone (Malaysia) for another $5000 and to Stuart Usher at Fat/Cheezy for $4250 in support. As many of you know Silverstone have been long time supporters and now we are pleased to have Stu on board as well. Stu has acquired Cheezy Racing and will be manufacturing both the FAT and Cheezy Bar work. Please consider these sponsors for your Bar Work and Tyre needs. Make sure you tell them you saw it here.

$30,000 in cash will be handed out at presentation night.

Biggest reads

Post by Hobzee »

Hey everyone, when I wrote this note the number of reads for this thread was nudging 99,000. I went through the history of all competition threads to see who has the most and Cliffhanger takes the cake. OBC '06 is close at 91,000 and OBC 07 at 89,000 and OBC 08 at 52,000. There were about 3 Rock Crawling events in the 60,000 to 80,000. Ironically it was a few grumpy Tough Truckers who kick started our thread with controversial accusations yet they ranked a measly 50,000 ish. Pahhhh (Not a bad event but ... and thanks for the kick start too, heh)

The competition threads date back to 2002 and not surprisingly on the very first page are Navruns and Pursuits ... see we were right there from the start.

So there you have it. Ironman Cliffhanger is the most popular event in Outer Limits history.

medical forms

Post by Hobzee »

Hi everyone - please make sure that everyone who will be at Cliffhanger (includes Kids and Kooks) has filled out medical forms on our web site. www.ironmancliffhanger.com.au

Lanyards only go to those who have done so and no lanyard means no grub, etc. We will be policing this and doing it now online will save a lot of time at registration. Besides, rudes has already lost hair over this....

Blood

Post by Hobzee »

Hey everyone - we have since been advised by our medics that the wrong blood type can cause a bit of a problem and that we may be better not having your blood details unless you have a condition that would suit us knowing.

So dont feel you have to rush out and get a blood test.

thanks for your question... 2013 will have a new base camp...

now bear in mind... we are in the Outback well away from civilisation...

facilities include:

toilets, based in scattered areas

hot showers

240volt mains power for all the competitors marquees.. in which we have over 60 marquees being erected

catering is available for all.. all 3 meals per day

we have wireless internet, available coverage anywhere in the camp area

base camp is rain proof... as we have an emergency exit to the highway.. therefore we can still race if rain effected

competitors and there family and pit crew are allowed to camp with each other...

and more.....
