old hilux = uncomfy, cheap, pulls more chicks, good fun to get articulating as well as a coil sprung truck, did i mention cheap, ground clearance, more than a bee's d!ck of lift doesnt blow cv's to pieces, more than 2 inchs of articulation with 300mm A arms, parts cheap, lack of fancy ecu = loves to go swimming, can fit bigger than 31's without getting the grinder out.

new hilux = comfy, good sand plough in soft sand also good at ploughing dirt in eaten out rutts, has air bags when you put it on it's lid, doesn't come stock with a mould smell/look, OEM alloy wheels with MASSSSIFFF rubber, don't have to stop to lock hubs, headlights that work, working interior light, better fuel economy, IFS race bred handling similar to the evo 8.

So all in all they both have there good and bad points.

its just new vs old they both have there strong and weak points and are better for different things, so in the bigger picture no one on this god dam post is ever going to agree, everyone is in 4x4 for different things not just touring and not just scaling rocky mountains.

Very true, although it is good to poke fun at each other :P. In all honesty i'd buy a bt50 over a hilux(yes i realise this is not the topic), cheaper, build quality is better imo, gearing is good for driving with weight, although with fuel economy in mind, resale is also pretty good, suicide doors in xtra cab..... They suit the purpose but as far as im concerned none of the new "mid size" 4x4's hilux, bt50, navara, triton etc are intended to be setup and driven as a tourer, although my thoughts on touring may be different to others, the Northen most points pf Aus etc etc etc is my kind of touring, 80/100series, gq/gu, even though the td 100 series are ifs they are above and beyond the hilux's front end IMO!.
