i used to own a feroza and found it would go most places a similar lifted SA hilux would. The best part of the feroza was it had torsion bar IFs that took me 30mins to give it a 2inch lift at the front and cost me $0. so the only money i had to spend to get a lift was to reset the rear leaves . so to lift it about 2 inches only cost me $150. now try to lift a hilux or a patrol 2 inches for $150 and thats a suspension lift. now as you SA ppl keep pointing out about breaking the front diff well ive hit the diff more in the sierra than i ever did in the feroza coz it had a bash plate that protected it.
i agree with the fact that a IFs has more ground clearance and that it had less artic. a suspension lift in a IFS is only that! it lifts the suspension. it doesnt improve its flex. you can only make what you have work better by softening the torsion bar and removing the sway bar.

put head to head in similar 4x4 (say a ifs surf and a SA hilux) both un modified you would find them both pretty equal overall.

lifting a wheel with IFS isn't that bad, saves tyre wear.

I went wheeling last saturday, and we had one bloke with a lifted SR5 with 33s. Ive got a swb GQ with 31s and we both have open diffs. The SR5 got through all the places we tried (rock steps and shyt) but one thing that was very obvious is how ungraceful it performed!

An IFS with a locked diff will probably go to same places as a locked SA, BUT it certainly isnt as stable in crossed axle situations.
