My girlfriends Vit. 2 inch lift running 31's. The inner guard stopped any more tuck but I reckon a 3 inch body lift will add just a little more.

Damn IFS though !

Do I see another potential candidate for Cressida rear shocks do you reckon Antt?
Far from my full rear flex - but I think I've posted some big rear flex shots before although I haven't posed for a flex shot properly since I had 26"s on it. This is the best front tuck shot I've had out of it since the 31"s went on.

That's a lot of droop... I still haven't measured the extension of my springs but looking at them, I don't think the springs will handly much more than 2 or 3 cms without risking coming off :( ... oh yeah, and waiting for the next paycheque too

Yeah I moved to Brissy Australia Day weekend 2003. Long drive in the Vitara with no airconditioning. It was 46 Degrees when we left Melbourne to the Blissful
cold of Brisbane

Yeah even with 2" lift springs mine are still wired in as on max flex they do have a tendancy to pop out..... I did that once on a downhill which was very amusing. I think I get 8" dropout at the shock and something like 10" at the wheels. You might be able to buy Antt's OME rears - they're not long enough to spit out even the stock coils. I'm sure he'd rather have the extra travel than have the OME sticker....

Here's mine after putting in some harder shockers at the back (slightly longer)... still standard in all senses of the word! Springs are the standard Suzuki setup and stay firmly in place even on full extension!

Oh, and this one's 100% Victorian
legal too...

Hey Luis, Is the front fully compressed? If yes, it looks like there's room for a bit more tyre in there

I'd say at least another two inches - and that's before you even get the grinder out

Hmmm you pose an interesting question. I don't think it's fully compressed though. Will have to disconnect the sway bar one day to find out.
As for the extra 2 inches... if the tyres had an extra 2", then the shocker's extension would look so much smaller wouldn't it?

and would it tuck in so nicely? (photo from other angle below)
Anyway, with an extra 2" of rubber, I would no longer be able to claim it was legal and road worthy in Victoria... and it would also mean one fewer excuse for the next time I get bogged!!

I guess you would have to measure it to check if there is an extra 1" of room between the wheel arch and the tyre in that second picture - it's a bit hard to tell from the angle it's on...

Looking good...... Look better with some body lift though..... There should be some spare 1" blocks on my floor tomorrow night sometime ;D
I got some alloy blocks cut up on the weekend so now going up to 32mm - as far as is possible on the standard vitara studs using standard nuts give or take 1mm - just been out weldign up the modified levers to suit.
How they work off the road on the LWB? Had much of a chance to try em out?
Did the OME rear springs stay in place without wiring in?

i've only taken it out once with them in and it worked bloody well, didn't lift a rear wheel anywhere, and we did some harder tracks this time out.
all i did to hold em was zip-tie them in
and yes, the ome's did stay in place with the ome shocks

Interested in coming out for a play at Ormeau this weekend - I wanna see go through that bit you woosed on the ridge on last time...... I reckon you'll do it easy now you've got the travel....
Dammit now I'll need a long wheelbase to keep up...... Or maybe just get another 4" of droop.........
Hmmmm the VP Commodore shockies look to have a nice length and seem to have similar damping characteristics to the Cressida ones. I'll need to modify the 3 link rear to cope and get some driveshaft spacers, and maybe modify the shock mounts but I've got a new welder to play with so it's not out of the question.

How about with another 4"? It doesnt seem to have lost much tuck there. Usually they hit the inner guard near the chassis not the top of the arch so the offset probably makes at least as much difference as the size

no, they dropped down so they were only 'just' being held in by the cone shaped bump stop. that was flexing it up in the front yard, offroad, with a bit of momentum, i'm sure they would've come out at one stage. they actually spun a little on the bottom mount when i first took it out.
i 'might' be able to go out this weekend, just that i've got a friends 18th thats gonna be pretty big, so i mightn't be in any state to drive on sunday

, i'll definetly give that ridge bit a crack now, and wanna try carnage canyon once i extend the diff breathers.

Personally I like my car to have some semblance of legality.
But that's only MY preference - I can appreciate other peoples views.....

Actully bolth those zuki's are street driven quite often, and moslty leagal. Save for fender flares and or mud flaps. But the local law doesnt relly bother you about those unless your driving stupid.
