Yeah, there's nothing like being told a week out from an event that your vehicle is too high!!!

I fail to understand how event organisers can except your entry and money and then 1 week out from the event add extra vehicle restrictions.

No doubt there is plenty of other teams effected by this........

Oh well. Shit happens!

In 4 years that I've been involved in organising the Paj Challenge, there's always something that puts a spanner in a well laid plan and most of these are out of our control. A couple of years ago we had to re-print 55 copies of Section 1 notes because DSE decided to start contruction on a new bridge the night before the challenge and another track had a huge tree that had fallen on a major track that same night. We didn't finish re-building the route notes until midnight, then we split into teams and drove the affected sections at less than 8 hours before the start of the event.

Eight months of planning and testing goes into this event and sometimes shit happens at the last moment, so get over it....

Apparently it affects the first half only which is during the day, so take off your roof lights and/or drop your tyres down to 5psi and pump it back up when you pass the obstacle.

Besides the Disco is only 2.1m high, so I'll be saying goodbye from the other side :P

No doubt we will do what is required to pass under these "obstacles" even if it means we will be removing coils but 5 psi in tyres might get us through though

By the time we encounter them hopefully a more permanent fix might be in place ;)

if you built your car so that it could drive through the first layer of gravity then you may be able to levitate you vehicle over the obstacle!

If the 2.2m height limit is a real problem for you why not email your concern to the organisers and tell them your brand of roof lights so that can cut out the correct shape for you. :P

The height limit is not an issue for me.. I drive a 60 series chitty chitty bang bang. If its too low i'll fly over it!
And besides, theres that must rust in the roof you can lift it off at will.

Do you reckon they could cut out a shape of a 75 series roof

Our roof measures 2.3m but looks like we'll get some lower coils for the weekend seen as wheel travel and bump stop clearance isn't a big concren on the Pajero :D

Glad we weren't that high on leafs
