Help with wish list

Hi all,

I’ve got a pretty much standard Jimny with an OME +40mm lift and I’m having a ball driving the little bugger over anything I can point it at. I’m surprised at just what these little things can do.

I drive it to and from work everyday (1000k per week) and my wife drives it to work on the weekends when I don’t have a trip planed (fuel economy is better than her Camry).

I want to do some mods to up the FUN in the bush, but I’d like to keep the car in reasonable road driving condition.

I was thinking:

Snake Racing swaybar disconnects
Front and rear ARB locker
APIO front bumper (how the hell do I get my hands on these)
A full 2â€

With the size tyres you are planning, 29", some gearing may help, would only need S1 rockhoppers. With S3's you'd just what to drive everything and those nice panels wouldn't last too long. Front control arms were any issue with coily Sierra's and I'm not sure whether they were strengthened for the Jimnys, probably not.

Thanks mate, I believe they were but they're available from snake racing if there are still issues.

Any other comments??

Thanks again

This is Mugginsmoo's Jimny  50mm suspension (I think) lift, swaybar still attached, locked front & rear, t-gase gears & 235/85R16's on XL-7 rims with some guard trimming.

How capable at fabricating parts are you. Front bar could be made yourself, along with lots of other things. Save a bit of money, get exactly what you want. Also its fun

yea, I think that could be a little over my head. But I guess it's worth considering; saving money is good.

The front setup has a cutdown ARB winch bar set into a standard bumper housing a low mount winch. When you see the car it doesn't scream out for attention but it works great.

Here's a side on pic but the quality is a bit poor as I took it from some video.

Does anyone know where the APIO bumpers can be purchased in AUS. Do they have to be imported ?

Maybe get a hilux, you wont have to worry about the front bar! ;)

to get APIO parts go to there website and find the fax number. you then have to fax Yoshi, when you fax him give him your email address and ask him what your after.
he will reply very fast, but he won't reply to emails direct, you have to fax him first.

it took me 5 days (from first fax) to get my gear set from APIO to my front door and it sat in customs for 2 days.
these guys are efficient. but they follow the rules, so your gonna have to pay duties on what ever you bring into the county.

thanks mate, I'll check their site and send them a fax tomorrow.

Does anyone have any experience with swaybar disconnectors? (Snake Racing have em), I'm hoping they will allow even more articulation than I get now.
