Hi Guys,

Just a quick one.

Anyone got any idea what size bolts hold on a non airbag ARB winch bumper to a disco 1. Looks like there are 6 bolts with the front 4 being the same size as each other but then the back two look like they need to be bigger.

Its a simple question i know but when it gets around to being able to work on it at the weekend most of the places i need to get things from are closed so i need to get them during lunch hours etc when i cant crawl under the truck an dtry different sizes.

It seems the bullbars legs for the rear most bolts only go up the inner chassis leg. Looking at the outer chassis leg where there is no bullbar there is a big 20mm hole through the chassis wall. What do poeple do, put a large penny washer, make up a big spreader? Oh and ARB arn't any good at helping out.

Any help would be great guys. I know its a stupid question but in my limited time i cant just try different bolt sizes at teh supplier.

Cheers guys.

1/2" drill rear out to suit and fit a crush tube, I know you won't but its worth a mention

I can't remember what we used, but I think they were 12 mm high tenstile and of course long enough to fit thru the chassis and mounting plate and backing plate. We did not use the larger hole, nor crush tube but did fit a backing plate to prevent chassis crush...... Hum, think you need to se how you go. Remove bumper trial fit the BB and see what you need. pretty sure you won't have to drill holes, but this depends on the bar design.

Ours bolted to existing holes on the D1 chassis, but we did add more bracing by welding a 10mm x 25mm bar to the BB mounts which was shaped to run back to the Panhard Rod bolts - extra assurance aginast ripping the unit off.

But the rear holes are only on one side of the rail, need to be drilled through :?
