count the teeth on the crwon wheel and divide by the teeth on the pinion.

most M/Ks are 4.625 = 37 / 8

The MQ/MK has Three different ratios, these are 4.111:1, 4.625:1 and 4.875:1.
The way to figure it out is to turn the pinion shaft one complete revolution while counting the number of times that the axle turns.
for example if you turn the pinion shaft one turn and the axle turns four times plus approx one eighth of a turn, it is 4.111:1.
4 turns plus five eighths for 4.625:1
4 turns plus seven eighths for 4.875:1.

Hope this helps.

You can find the ratio on the follower gear rim. Subject to engine type and production year it looks as 37:11 (3.364), 37:9 (4.111), 35:8 (4.375), 37:8 (4.625) or 39:8 (4.875). In last case you are lucky man :) .

its stamped on the crownwheel . it'll say something like 37:11

37 divide 11 = diff ratio.
