How have u mounted your computer? This is mine basically in position. higher than i have been in water before
highest i have gone is to have a high tide mark on the tranny tunnel.
should i put some sort of cover on it at all? or where do the factory ones go.
WT sierra (G16B computer)

I was debating this.
Not much room higher apart from glovebox that i use and there are the air/heat pipes running through the dash area. Want to mount securely and be able to get to it without undoing all the dash. No where to mount to up there or wedge it in.
Cables are coming in above where my second battery is sitting.
Needs to be vented if in a box i believe.

yeah i put my computer above the steering coloum the zip tye it down , so it wasnt moving. so it sits up behing guages, nice and hi, out of way , and wires blend. If i want to touch it i cut one zip tie, and then alot of jiggling it comes out.

I had mine up behind the speedo towards the drivers side right up the top and i got a drop of water which fried up the insulation stuffing the ecm. I was told by a repair company to angle the ecm arround 60 degrees so water would run of board and not sit on board when mounteed flat, dont forget about condensation, also hot air can cotain moisture, especially near the heater, also when raining, cabin gets steamy,I guess the tupperware dish is the go or a sealed electrical adaptale box from a electrical wholesaler, they are IP56,basically waterproof but has the advantage of a screwed removable lid, thats what i am using, car dont go wihout ECM,Cheers Paul.
P.S. I carry a spare as mine only cost $75.

Plugs and loom facing down because thats the only opening into box, water might travel up,but seal it up and yes mine is still in same place,I pissed off air tube due to roll bar going through dash,Cheers Paul.

Seen a set up in the glove box which was easy and neat
I am going to run a presureised drivetrain for water crossings (~4psi) , was thinking of adding a line to the computer as well with dual evaps

pull the dash out and get it up under the cowl behind and above the sloping glove box. depending on how big the computer is, you might beed to re-route your bonnet latch cable to somewhere else.
alternatively, do as the clever boys at kia do and mount it to the floor.

Going to have a look at this later as my cabling running in passenger side so moving it up there is not too much of a problem, apart from mounting it there but will work out something.
