i have to 60s, on petrol/LPG, and one diesel, no i want to pull the engine out of the petrol and drop it into diesel..

my question is, wot else needs to be swapped?
gear box? transfer? diff centers? wiring?

any suggestions would be really helpfully

I am currently doing the opposite of this atm.... putting a petty engine into an HJ60... only because I've got the truck there and the engine is now he garage floor.

What I've done is gutted the whole wiring loom, dash, engine bay etc from the truck that will be getting the donor engine. I then individually marked all the plumbing, wiring connections etc that I disconnected from the orginal (petrol) motor and pulled the engine out. Thats now on the floor.
Now, strip the whole wiring loom from engine bay back thru the firewall and all the way back to the tail light loom(I'm taking it from an FJ60 into a HJ60, so I hope the rear tail light section is the same!!!) It helps if the steering column is out too when you strip the loom. Take this loom and now put it into the truck that you are going to put the engine into, it's a bit of dickin around but pretty easy, I knocked mine over in about 2hrs to strip both trucks and rewire the loom into the one I'll use.

I've connected all the wiring together in the dash(without the top of dash on, just incase I need to fix something once it gets power to it.) and the tails lights. All I got left to do is put a gasket/seal kit thru the engine and flop it in.

I'm not sure about the distance the g'box is spaced back, but I guess I'll find that one out in 1-2 weeks time. I also have to re-weld the engine mounts on the the chassis as I cut the orginials off from the old motor that was in it(6.2 V8)

I'll keep updating this thread as I go if ya want..... just so you got an idea where to go with it.

Cheers,
Brighty.

thanx
