1hz starter solenoid shafts - replacable??? - FIXED

The starter's solenoid on the 1hz has just shit itself.

On the pic u see that an insulator washer has broken off, (so the contact actually earth's to the solenoids shaft), and need to replace it, but doesnt look like its a repairable item.

Am I going to have to buy a starter, or solenoid, or where can I find a replacement shaft?

Looks like its just going to be a visit to the wreckers, an expensive visit btw... :roll:

pretty sure that bit is available. all the starters since about 1988 have been the same, an auto sparky should be able to dig it up for you.

Hey Brian, howz it going?

Tomorrow I might go to repco sorta places, and on monday visit sparkys and then toyota as a very last resource.

Hope I find it and cheap :roll:

I managed to rebuild my solenoid plunger, but just in case, I bought a full replacement kit at ashdown for only $40 :D
