I have a TD42T 2000 GU coilcab ute & the alternator is on it's way out. Are all TD42 alternators interchangable? What's the best option, rebuild, new factory, or new aftermarket, or secondhand?

Depends on whats wrong, if its just brushes, it'll cost you around $6 for parts

Your alt will not have vac pump so an aftermarket 120 amp is about $420
worth doin if you run alot of electrical components lights, fridges ect
