Im goign to be flushing out my Rad and block out today, its the first time ive ever done it. any tips on what i should do.

Plan was disconect heater hose. open heating on full put hose through and flush out through the block then when that runs clear. cover cover block and get the rest of the shit out of the rad.

or am i better off getting a rad place to do it for me.

the old man will be healing me since he has more experiance with cars He used to rebuild em!, but not a GQ.

hi mate

to flush the radiator you need to " reverse flush it"
pull it out, turn it upside down and stick a firehose in the now "top" orrifice.

to flush the block, pull out the block drain which is about level with the exhaust flange on the exhaust manifold, its a 14mm bolt, then pull out your thermostat and stick the hose over the drain plug ( this is hard) for a little while, then stick it in the bottom inlet on your engine while at the same time jamming a bit of rag around the hose to stop it leaking.

a normal garden hose is not the best to use unless you back it up with some compressed air. find a firehose on the side of a factory unit :)

To do a good job of it, chuck a cleaner in teh system first to descale and degunk as much as possible.

try running some radiator flush before you back flush, ultimately get the header tanks pulled off and properly brush cleaned.

remove radiator, flush it out of the car

to do the engine, best way is to remove the thermostat, and stick a gurney/high pressure water spraying device in there and blast the crap out of it
