how cheap and nasty are the dust caps for the front drive flanges. i got 2 today to replace the ones that are missing and there these crapy little rubber things. i can see there going to last also got some new panhard rod bolts and there huge compared to my 72 is the rod the same just with bigger bushes or am i going to have to chase down a panhard rod too?

The caps arent the best design. I think genuine ones are better than some non genuine ones. Maxi Drive make flanges with screw on caps - a good idea, particularly if yours have some play in the spines.
Sounds like the panhard bolts arent right if the diameter isnt the same as whats on there. Any decent bolt place should be able to match the existing ones.....

the dust caps are rubbish. I replaced them with standard Holden ones that I drove over an old Disco flange with a piece of pipe that fitted over the cap and onto the rim of the cap expanding the opening sufficiently to be able to tap them onto the flange. So far they have stood up well and if I lose one, have got dozens here anyhow. Maxi screw on are the best solution.

MD screw on ones are the best solution. Series LR's have metal caps, but not sure if these can be fitted to 110 flanges? Anyone tried?
Edit - just realised you are probably talking about a disco? which are different again...

I'm not sure but you may also be able to fit a screw thru the cap into the the axle - there's a threaded hole in ours and this helps to keep the cap on.

well the alloy wheels i have have centercaps that should cover it but cant be 100% i havent tryed fiting them on that diff i know they cover the stub on the old diff easy but these flanges may stick out more.
