Just found your board the other day and it is way cool. I read through the last 36 pages and have found a lot of information. Still have some questions.

Could someone explain engineering to me? is it like getting inspected. It seems like you can do much to your rig before the law intervines.

what is a bundera? In all those pages there was only a couple of pics and it wasnt the whole thing.

what is the 18R? ive got the 22r. usa has the 20r also. i have heard of a couple of 21ru's around, but the 18r stumps me.

Does anyone know of links or people to talk to about importing stuff?
It seems that america got the raw end of the toyota deal. no diesel, there are only two doors on my pickup, and we have had to put up with ifs for so many years.

if any one know of just some cool links post'em. thanks

22R is 2.4ltr 4 cyl, they are in bunderas

just remembered another question. Does anyone run old man emu? i have been looking at it for my suspension but its hard to find good dealers that know more than the customer. I was looking for 4 inch but they seem to tell me the bigest ome makes is 2.5. Is this true?

hbar314 if you need US specific information try cruizers.com and go to the discussion board.,Most of the guys on there own 40,45,55,60,62,80 series and are fairly knowlegble .Your more than welcome to post questions here as well. If you want to look at a list of all the cruisers ever made check this site
http://www.brians894x4.com.
Australia is like landcruiser heaven if your into landcruisers. We got about 12% of all the landcruisers ever made in a population of 20million.

basically any major mods over here need to be engineered before registration to make sure they are safe, they can be pretty strick on what you can and cant do, some states wont allow a spoa so will.
if you get pulled over here and you dont have a cert for your mods the cops can defect you etc, (prolly the same over there).
we also get nice things like dual cab pickups and the 73 series cruisers which are a mid wheel base 2 door with front a rear leaves.
diesel's are a very common engine over here and prolly the prefer engine, as they produce bucket loads of tourqe etc.

you guys get things pretty good over there though, you got cheap swampers and other rubber over here for a 35x15.5x15 swamper sx we pay $660 ea with the exchange rate as it is, thats $476 usd , thats almost doubble what they can be got for in the US

i got it done at place called suzi sport in brisbane. but they would have got the springs from ARB. check them out.
the springs are for toyota, on aus a 4runner is a wagon version of toyota hilux.

spazbot: Over here you can actually get away with a lot. At the drop of a hat people will change motors or just plane start cutting and welding. Making it legal is usually an after thought. Basiclly you just need turn signals, lights and enuogh fender to cover your rubber. (some states have extras but not much). Diesels are the exception over here. Most americans sterotype them as slow, noisiey, and nasty. So most diesels are used in larger pickups. It would be hard to find one smaller than 6.5L.
Very true about the swampers. I pickup mine up off ebay almost new for $315(us) for the set. But there is always another maker of rubber, I would gladey have a toyota diesel.
I thinking now that i might go with all pros 4inch now, but i change my mind alot.

I don't think you would regret that decision. From what i've read and seen of all pro springs they work well. Old man emu springs work well, but are sometimes limited by the shocks they sell with the springs as a package, so if you do go that way it might be a better idea to just get the springs, install them and flex it up, then order the right length rancho/procomp/shock of your choice. Good luck with it all and any questions just fire away.
