just wanting some opinions as i am either going to purchase a mq/k or gq patrol as a project 4b. as i currently own a gq ute i dont have to much knowlage on the mq's (k's) cant say ive ever seen a mk. but anyway coil spring is almost a certain on my list. just curios if any mq's come out with 4 coils or are they leaf sprung. if so can u get much flew out of a leaf sprung. im guessing no where near as much a a coil... my other option (dont hate me) is a swb 40 series... anybody know much bout these. pretty sure they are leaf sprung as well. true? i just want a simple easy to work on truck. i also plan to do a v8 motor conversion.any inputs would be appreaciated.. thanks

Go the GQ. Would be the best starting platform out of them all.

GQ is the only way to go. Bolt in GU front n Koyo 104 GU steer box, good quality suspension, TJM prolockers n forget about the rest of them

my budget is round the 10k for the base car then i intend to work on it from there... at 1st it will be just a fun car on the weekends with mates. not a daily driver as i already got a 93 gq trayback for that but evantually i would like to get into some serious competetions.

id go a gq wagon (chop it later if u get sick of the panels). or a shorty n chop it and extend the wheelbase.

my car owes me 12ish n it has lift, bar work, turbo, modded pump, 35's and a factory locker.
i paid 8 for it with turbo, lift, tyres n locker then added my own touches. ull find some good bargans on here n on ebay just be patient n look round

what bout a g60 mate? i have seen some wicked pics of fully modded ones and they are dirt cheap...

buy a gq swb drive it and mod the ute, may us well do it first if you going to comp it any way.

Thats $10600 body lift coming out no winch yet but you get the idea when building a play truck check o/l for sale section and ebay or just buy the 2dextreme duel cab on o/l all it needs is a cage n gu front the rest is alredy done check it out for your self its a bargain for what you get and its already to drive home they can even do the cage for you
