engine conversion, diff swap, different transfer, body chop, custom suspension setup and 37" tyres. i have my car already regoed but looking to see if its worthwhile to sell mine and buy a chassis.

so i would like to know what is involved in getting rego after and also

if the car is already regoed (which it is) what else needs to happen after it is engineered???

it is all getting done at an engineering company so its not a backyard job.

Firstly, what state are you in ? What type of vehicle ?
Second,Is the engineer doing the mods going to certify the car.
Third,If not they need to talk to each other before you start.
Fourth,If in NSW a blue slip,Then rego.
Fifth,Try to get insurance, Cheers Paul.

im in NSW and its a LC bundera
im planning on getting it done at Overkill and yes they are engineering it
whats a blue slip??? does that still count if its already regoed???
am now looking at insurance options ;) looking at DGA, Suncorp and TCIS will be calling them tomorrow.

You need to get a blue slip to approve the mods that have been engineered. You then take it to the RTA and they add it to your rego label.

Even if it's already regoed you still have to get a blue slip done to add the engineers certificate to your rego otherwise it's still not legal.

so if im going to get a blue slip no matter what it doesnt really matter if its regoed or not which gives me the option to sell mine and buy a chassis and body??

true or not

Rather than get random and possibly misleading advice on here - ring a few reputable engineers on here and tell them your plans. They should be able to tell you if it is possible to engineer and roughly what engineering will cost.

Also definitely worth checking with insurance. You are under 25 aren't you? So no DGA insurance, and most others will probably run away when you mention 37's.
