My snorkel build

I decided id better get round to putting in a snorkel in the rangerover (stock intake location is stupid), so I looked around the garage.
I found;
A box of pvc fittings
Some pvc pipe
some commodore intake bits
a $100 blue flexi intake hose (from supercheap 6 months ago)
and an old patrol carb air intake.
To start with, I started thinking about how I was going to do the underbonnet bit. I already knew where the snorkel would be feeding out. The original plan was to go and get another intake hose (black one), but supercheap didnt have any. THere were also not enough pvc bends or right size pipe, so I started lining up the commodore bits.
I used a 45 degree bend to come out from between the carbs, then onto a couple of commodore intake bits, then onto a bit of pvc pipe, which connected to the blue flexi. The flexi was then fed through teh panel under the windscreen and a hole was cut in the panel. It was then fedout, and then the bit of patrol intake pipe with the bend was added onto the end.
It is airtight, and I still need to paint the top bit to make it look a bit better.

Thanks, I do like the bit under the bonnet, but im not so keen on teh top part. I used the blue, because I had it sitting on the shelf (bought it 6 months ago) and I didnt have enough PVC the right size for running up the windscreen. I tried to buy another bit from supercheap (black), but it seems that they decided not to stock them anymore.
And yes, it does the job, I had it sitting in a river with water running through the inside and water over the bonnet, and it kept running fine (The waterproofing I did on the dizzy really worked

)

Yea, I would have liked it a better colour. But hey, beggars cant be choosers.

Why? some of us dont have the money to buy brand plastic snorkels. Besides, its fine on a $750 range rover
OMG ! , a rangie has swallowed my hoover !
And? am I not allowed to feed my rangerover?
Oh, and to anyone interested, the rangerover has blown its transfercase (was dodgy when I bought it, now its completly buggeres), so it is going to sit in the naughty corner until I have the time and money to repair it(or I might just wreck it for parts. But I still like it

)

I'm guessing you've got an old 4sp with integral tcase?
Wherabouts in NZ are you? I know some people who have bits and pieces lying around.
