Help with a 4runner.

Morning all,
I pcked up a '93 4runner on Friday, and took it straight to the Wattagans for some fun. I tell you it is so much more comfortable to drive than a Sierra up there, that is for sure. The previous owner of the car says it has a 2 1/2" lift, and it has been done with OME stuff. The one thing that I noticed is the bugger all rear articulation. Now I know that the rear sway bar is not helping, as I disconnected one side yesterday, and the axle dropped about another 6". Am I able to get rear disconnects for the bar, or is it a case a case of just getting rid of it. I do most of my driving on road, but do go out each weekend for a play. It also has the Heavy duty springs, so will this too be limiting the axle movement. I do not do touring with anything but a small bag in the back, so can anyone recommed some springs that will be softer and increase the articulation.

( ps I did search, but found nothing that really answered my questions.)

Check out Nemesis thread in the members section he has good flex out of the rear of his.

I run (and so does Nemesis) std. height 80 series coils in the rear. These give 3.5-4" lift, but with shocks the right length allows awesome travel! I'd say your shocks would be limiting some travel in the rear too. Best way to go is to remove them, then flex it up and get the minimum and max shock lengths needed. Then go find a shock to suit.

Heres a pic of mine flexing. (I had sway bars fitted in both pics)

Twisty,
If i already have the 2 1/2" lift in the front, how can i raise it that last inch easily, without screwing up cv angles and steering geometry?
I believe that a ball joint spacer wikll only extent my travel back down, not actually raise it. Is this true.

A ball joint spacer kit is the cheapest and easiest way to go....Will allow you to get more droop out of the front, but the same amount of up travel. I've got heavy duty torsion bars in the front of mine, so it doesn't flex for shit, and rides rough...but with std. torsion bars the BJ spacers can get the front to flex quite well. (for IFS anyway)
