I have made a bar to support a 9500lb electric winch on my Sierra. Should I leave it as barwork or should I put the bumper back on. The bumper will sit 15-20 mm forward of its original position. The original bumper outriggeers will be cut off.

At the moment I've got a thing for rigs that look kinda stock. Attracts less attention but still does the job. That's not to say I don't like a well built modded rig but there is something cool about the sleeper aspect.

ditto - get that bumper back on there - it looks cool and will way reduce the cars "visibility".

CJ i s only saying that because he has a car that is kinda stock and is trying to justify it to himself. :finger:

Nah, Take winch bar off.

Put standard bumper back on.

Nah I like the look of it with the bumper
but could you make it so its easy to take off ?

That way it wont be so hard to clean behind if you go through mud.

Cheers Nick

As of this afternoon there are four stainless button head capscrews holding the bumper on. I can remove it with an allen key in about three minutes. BUT WHERE WILL I PUT THE NUMBER PLATE???

If you leave the bumper off, what will you do for indicators?

I was thinking of putting the parkers in the headlights like HQ tonners and fitting LED motorcycle indicators between pipes on sides.

or you could get the headlights that have the indicators in the bottom. Hot rodders use them I think I put a link to them on OL somewhere. I think the place was Chevy Customs or 40 Chevys or something like that.

Ahhh,
Motorcyclist killers....

Just like the new magna having the indicators on the INSIDE of the headlights. With the glare of the headlights coming through a bug-smeared visor, it is very hard to know if they are about to turn out in front of you.

those ones above look like they would do the same job.

I'm not sure I'd put it like that but thats roughly why I was thinking of putting the parkers in the headlights which makes them about 8 times larger than stock and put LED indicators in the original position. LED's are much more visible. Years ago I almost got killed in an XA falcon because you cant see the (rear) indicators when the brake lights are on, the indicator is between the tail/brake lights.
