with 5point safety harnesses by whom do they need to be approved by

is SFI approved ok???

is FIA approved ok

which ones are ok ???

For CAMS events for 5 points SFI 16.1 and FIA 8854/98 or 8853-1985 are acceptable. Iwould be guessing that for most other event organisers that they would probably be similar.
If they meet these approvals then they are much of a muchness. If you are going to use these in dirty enviroments though i would definitly go the hook and latch type and definitly 3 inch webbing.
Try speedway shops for your belts, I got mine from Ian Boettcher's in Ipswich. Ordered over the phone and delivered the following day. Cheap and great service.

I would not touch them. Rotory cam lock belts look good for circuit racing, but are no good for dirt. They clog up and fail at the wrong moment. For another $20-$30 you can get a good set of hook and loop belts.

yea in went and had a chat to a race shop today and he has 5point harnesses with a side latch which the guy said would be good in a dirty environment.

also im also looking at seats do you think a fixet alloy seat with a padded cover would be ok or not ???

Depends what you drive in the way of terrain, for a buggy I'd be going something that have a bit more give. Suspension seats seem the go these days if you don't enjoy bad backs and bruised kidneys.

there $115.00 this month i pick up alot of there freight in the arvo . i prob picked yours up . there SFI 16.1 i think i read on the belts when they showed me they very excited when i said they got a mention on a forum.

Back again. If you are after suspension seats try Bob @ Rivmaster. Probably the cheapest for suspension seats, but you do pay for them.

I think bang for buck though fixed back seats are the way to go, whether they are aluminum of fibreglass.
Trik Off Road in Melbourne have surprisingly good ones(fibreglass) for $130 each.
