Anyone ever done it- i have one off an import 4agze or something like it - looks difficult to mount so maybe some has some tips - otherwise is there a aftermarket kit for a petrol? I know they are dear - about $5000, but if it fit it may be easier - plus probably have to convert to efi any help appreciated

Theres a dude on Exploroz with a S/charged TB42... Im thinking about it for the TD42, sell the turbo kit and see...
$$ though
LOVES it, but is it worth that much $$..?? It would be easier than the one you have, but sell that one may offset some cost of the other..

Regarding the diesel, have just bought a supercharger ($330), bit of fiddling to get it to fit, Marko in WA has one says he fitted etc for $700
I may also have an intercooler to fit as well

Darren Green has a centrifugal supercharger on his shorty, goes extremely well but he has an Autronic computer and intercooler and so on....
A second hand kit might cost $5000, generally more for new.
And converting to EFI is not cheap, the manifolds alone are close to $2000 second hand, plus all the other bits and pieces (fuel pump, wiring, relays etc etc etc).....

Sorry for the delayed reply, have been away until today. Fiddling involves shifting reservior off power steering pump, shifting power steering pump, modifying battery box, shifting air cleaner to back of motor - as per turbo, spacing fan out - details to come as I fit.
I have not progressed as far as fitting yet I am trying to accumulate necessary bits and have not had any F**N time , but there are no air cleaner boxes for turbo motors at any of the perth wreckers - may have to modify my own.
inter cooler is off a volvo 4wd, but inlet and outlet are on opposite sides, both on one side would be better but this may be free
intercooler is about 400x850 - fills most of the space between headlights and would only require minor mods to grill to fit.
Marko, do you happen to recall what power steering reservior you ended up using,
Cheers
Brad

I'm interested to see. If you see my other posts I heard recently the 4.2 petrols don't handle the turbo & superchager well, without spending big $$$$. I got a remote power steer pump off a 3ltr but obviously would have to convert to EFI, which is why I was asking about the 3ltr turbo RB30. I was going to try and mount it above the pump on the passenger side or mount pump on drivers side and put the supercharger in the spot where the original pump was. Not sure of the exact model but i think a 4agze about 300mm long and about 250mm wide approx.
