Has anyone put the LRA flares on to their disco themselves? Thinking about doing it myself but a bit concerned about cutting rear doors and having to fibreglass or seal the inside of the door?
Anyway if anyone has done it just curious how hard it was.
Also while Im asking questions, has anyone also installed air lockers themsleves?

Cheers

Darren

I installed the flares but that was on a 2 door so it was easy.

Have installed ARB locker (well sort of). I pulled out the pumpkin, replace the diff centre with the ARB locker and drilled the hole for the air line. It is all easy, only problem I had was that I did not have the right tap for the airline as it was some British Pipe tap or something like that, and it was not cheap to buy.

I then paid local LR specialist to set all the clearances and tighten it all up. I only did this because I was not sure of the tolerances and did not have the right guage and it was only $50 for them to set it up.

I looked a fitting the flares from my rangie onto the disco. The front flares are far to large for the disco wheel arches. So never bothered to look at the rear flares.

:? What?? they fit D1's fine

Yea i've fitted them, don't be scared :D just measure, then cut "s less than you measured, then cautiously trim until you get it right, your first door will take hours and hours and beer, the second will just take beer and less than an hour

Air lockers are easy, where are you??

Sorry, they don't fit the D1 lines right, you need to cut out the step a little more :? very easy still :D

I've put the LRA flares on the missus 4 door Disco, the rear doors are the tricky ones, the first door took me forever - just keep trial fitting the flare and you'll get there. A finish sort of cutter - like a 2" cutting wheel helps, the instructions are almost confusing at times. I've got some photos I'll post that may help.

Here's a link - but beware the free site I use for hosting has the dreaded pop-ups... bastards!

Geez, just got a price on Rangie flares for the Disco - over 500 dollars delivered!!

The UK ABS units are looking more attractive by the minute at that price.

This seems too expensive. Any alternatives anyone??

if you search around, someone on the site was making similar flares to LRA, but out of Kevlar - i think they were also doing a couple of fibreglass ones. They could be a bit cheaper, if I get bored I'll dig up the old thread.
