Which kit?

I'm posting this up for a mate who's just bought an 80 series Land Cruiser 1993 model GXL 4.5 petrol. He's already booked it in for an LPG conversion, but also wants to lift it to run 35" tires without performing a body lift!
His questions to me were:
1. 4" lift or 6" lift kits?
2. Who to buy them from?
3. Who to install them?
4. Photos of question 1 with 35" tires from anyone on here!?
5. Prices?
Any help would be great, as I drive a GQ SWB so not familiar with the 80 series suspension setup / components etc. My mate will be using it as a DD so it will be running all terrain tires I imagine, but at the weekends he will wheel it hard.

Middle of the day mate. most folks are at work. Best to check later tonight when a few people have had a chance to log on after work. All you're doing at the moment is showing how impatient you are.
I went wheeling with a few guys who had 80's with 4 inch lift and 35's. they seemed to fit ok you will have to consider if it will rub on compression on the top of the tire. have him flex up and measure how close the extra radius of the tire will come to the top of the wheel well front and rear. He may have to consider a body lift if it looks like it will scrub.
As for fitting it, i don't know anything about it, but tell him that lifting it past 2 inches means he will have to do it properly and consider all the other little bits that will need looking at that's not mentioned in the lift kit. Castor, brake line lengths, tailshaft length panhard length etc.

Rick from bbm is running 40s on his 80 with a 4 inch lift so you will fit 35s fine

Really? No body lift or guard chopping? I had trouble with scrubbage on a 6" lift and 38's even after grinding the guards.

I've spoken to Rick about it before he did heaps of cutting to get the 40" XML's under the guards, don't know about the BL though?

Look into getting snake/3rds drop arms aswell to help with proper caster and fixing up the arm lengths to compensate for the lift.. this will also help running 35's with a 4" lift...
Anyone can run massive tyres with a 6" lift... how it will handle is a completely different story. Whilst he doesnt want to run a body lift, it might be something to consider as even a 25mm BL will allow a smaller suspension lift (which can still acheive awesome flex) which will increase handling ability, and reduce the chance of police/transport people picking him up...
Expect somewher around $1200 just for springs/shocks/caster plates... if you want arms aswell, have a look here
http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopic.php?t=98209, excellent info on arms/shock combination and prices.... aswell as pretty pics.
