Extended steering stops (again)

Sorry to rehash but I need a better solution.

I went with the extended bolt + retaining nut method and they just don't last. I bend them to meet with the axle tube as best I can but as soon as I come off a rock, the force exerted on the tyre just kills the steering stop.

Carnage pic attached. (Digi cam is busted so I scanned the bolts in my flatbed scanner  ) Two sets here, the dirty ones ate it at NavTrac. Yes one broke off totally :x Grrr! The shiny set I just put in today and they've been in for about 2 hours. :x

There's gotta be another way that lasts longer than just 10mins. Does anyone have ideas?

what if you got some 15mm bright bar and machined the end down and threaded it so it screws into the housing. That would be a heap stronger than a bolt.

i can machine some up for you if you want. How long are they?

the original thread is is here: http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... ering+stop

there is a pic of the factory steering stop bolt with measurements. i went with 10mm longer high tensile bolts.

are you talking about machining something like this? i put some rough numbers on there of what i think the measurements should be. this is just my guess - so if you have reasons to make it differently, then i'm all for it. how much would it cost to make me 4 of these?

NAM what grade bolt are they? get some grade 8 bolts and all should be fine, those ones look like run of the mill cheese bolts, don't go for bunnings high tensile bolts there just too weak.
