I bit the bullet and brought another car so the zook is now a bush rig!

After the drive to the beach the other day i knew i needed another car! :?

So now come the mods!

Got the off set rims under my bed!
31's
Reduction gears
New 2 inch lifted springs
Ute chop
And custom front bar!

I think this should do for a while is there anything else i have missed that i will need?

actual seat time.

I always recommend you drive it for awhile to get a feel for the car and see how it and you perform. Actually enjoy driving it and the challenges it gives you. All too easy and try and mod the hell out of it to early. Many times you end up with a car in the shed in bits or it becomes so modded all the fun is gone (both applied to me). So slow down and drive it for awhile and just enjoy it

Or you mod it too quickly and get bored with it, part it out, buy another one then say "i'm going to keep this one stock"

Or you build it, smash it, mod it, buy another one build it smash it, sell it, buy another one, say your going to keep it stock, build it, smash it, and then finaly part what you got left to build a buggy

I know

Still paying for it ;)

You better get a good paying job :finger:

That why i'm only going to 31's!

Already out drives rigs with 33-35's and stuff!

Got front and rear lockers winch etc!

Was going to do the bigger tyres any way and i need the reduction gears with the 30's now so may as well go 31's!

And the tray is just for looks!

So you all think stop at 31's?

throw some tube around it, RUF, crawler gears, F&R locked and you have what i've got, competitive, relatively legal, low maintenance, and fun.

ARRRRGGHHHHHH! DON'T CUT THE BACK OFF IT

A) They look dumb
B)it makes you look like a redneck (yeah.... me and the boys had a few cans and fired up the grinder.......)
c)There is not one single useful advantage in doing it:
Tyre clearance is never an issue in the rear - the front will always be the limitation

It will look like cop bait unless you engineer it

It doesn't make the car harder to smash - the stuff you hit is always the B pillar and windscreen frame - neither fixed by a ute conversion

You will raise the centre of gravity

You will loose storage room, especially dry storage room

You will require an engineers cert to do it legally

Did I mention they look dumb?

Greg spent a couple of years basically trying to smash the body up on his old green car (the 660 engined car - do a search) and still really didn't root the tub that badly that it was an issue in the back.

Otherwise, you are on the right track for sure.

Steve.

Un-less your name is Tim Hardy, your body will be fine unless your going to the point of makeing it a near tube buggy. I had planned to ute mine ages ago, but after thinking about it, a full bodied rig it is staying :) If you find you are smashing panels, either re-look your driving, or exo it. As for what to do now, GET OUT THERE AND WHEEL THE PISS OUT OF IT. Then figure out if you want to RUF, gearing and 33's. Though seeing as you are already locked up, look at gearing. I'm pretty sure you already know what a difference it makes.

I have storage drawes in the back but I would rather a space case or something that is there ready to go instead of opening the back up opening the drawes getting the stuff out! Meanwhile your cars getting full of water!

I WILL ONLY CHOP IT IF THE BACK GETS STUFFED UP AT THE MOMENT THE CAR IS STRAIGHT AS!

I have only had my p's for just over a week and around town it's like a go kart but the high ways you feel every bump etc!

Will stop at 31's i think as it's only a narrow track!

As for wheel the fu$k out of it have been doing that sence i was 15 and the last week have been out twice and going out tommorow!

I need rock hoppers now with the 30's so there no questions there!

THANKS FOR THE HELP AND KEEP IT COMING!

Wow a whole week  took me a day to decide to lower the tyre pressure for a smoother drive.

P.S go 32's. I get more lift out of my nipples on a cold night than 31's over 30's.

The tyres are at low presures! I think 32's would need alot more work to fit then the 31's?

It's only a narrow track and even that extra half inch could make the center of gravity that much to high?

ok

Maybe, you should drive him how he is for a bit,you learn alot more. Then start playing games. As for spendin money on tray and ute chops,i would fix your biggest problem and geta cheap set of WT diffs,me mate done it to his recently very easily modded.Maybe go RUF like i wanna and im sure you'll have fun.Definately go hoppers though.

yeah drive it how it is .... ATM since you know you wont be screwed for not having transport to work you can try the harder lines an most likly you'll find your rig can go alot further than you thought

Really done think i want 33's! Out drives cars with 35's and stuff so really what more do you want it to do?

33's would be good for the look factor but don't really think i would use it on any harder stuff than i can do when the 31's are on!

If i can find any wide track diffs cheap i might through them them under but other than that i want it to be a suzuki!

widetrac diffs are not bolt on. they are similar to any diff conversin in that you need to move the spring mounts. That said they are great, I have them on my narrowtrack and my tyres never rub on my springs. oh yea there is a zook club meeting tommorow night.

yea iv been trying to get there I WANNA SIGN UP but keep missing the meetings.

SuzukiBoy

you could go 32s fairly easliy well i did... not sure on a NT mines WT. all i needed was 2 BL 2 Spring some bashing and move the front diff forward 20 mill and that was only 100$

tho im sure 31s will be decent anyway, as for the tail. do what ever u think would look good and usefull for you i quite like some dudes who have tubed backs and plastic storage containers screwed to them.

any ways good luck. PS your 1st post sounded like u baught another 4x4 and was gonna trash your current zook. lol dunno maybey just me.

NAh the zook is still my only 4x4! I got a blinged up ford courior!

As for the the 32's have heard you can do it nut it's more work and it's a bit tipsy on the 30's! :?

As for the ute as i have said it depends what happens to the body!
