driveshaft angles

Looking at correcting my driveshaft angles as they are pretty steep at the moment and are causing a bit of vibration. Does anyone have double cardons or custom driveshafts or something? what sort of dollars am i looking at?

are you sure its the angles, uni joints can dry up, with nothing obvious from outside, and with no wobbling...werth a try b4 ya soend too much..also pinion bearings can vibrate too, christover

Also check that the unis (More how the shaft is bolted on) are in sync, e.g. they match X X not X+ if that makes sense.

yep, he's right, splines can be 180 out, causing wobbles

and check that your x-fer case mounts are straight - mine was tweaked from the masses of torque that the 1.3L engine produced and caused some vibrations by putting the jackshaft on a wierd angle

My car has that many squeaks and rattles I hardly notice driveline vibes

I have been getting a few new ones from the rear a sthe spring packs flatten out putitng the pinion at a weird angle (SPOA) and the short side T/case arm is bent beyond repair ..

Check uni joints are lubed, ears on the D/Shafts are not bent by rocks, drive shafts are strait (again not dented by rocks or logs) that splines aren't to badly worn ..

Most likely culprit is dry/worn uni joint and or angle as spring packs flatten out (prevelant in SPOA vehicles)

how much lift have u got?/,ive got 6" on mine(spoa) and had radical angles on the front and rear shafts,the standard shafts will not cut the mustard..i also rotated pinion angles and pivot balls on my zook and used a cardan joint in the rear and a normal hilux shaft in the front,i had to modify them to fit!..oh and i gottem for free...

Just get the double carden shafts and you'll never have to give a rats what the angles are. From memory IFS 4runner/surf/lux front shaft is pretty damn close (same bolt pattern at the transfer, wrong spigot) ...you can find these parked all over the place.
