Just been thinking.... arent 4 runner diesel rear axles identical to Hilux diesel axles except for the springs?

Im just wondering if its possible to put the backing plates and rear disk brakes from a 4 runner with disk rears onto my LN106 hilux with rear drums... Im sick of not being able to stop properly after going through water, and i want decent brakes!

4 runners dont have rear discs.

Im pretty sure i saw rear disks on my mates 1994 4 Runner diesel!

No, they dont. No Hilux variant has ever come factory fitted with rear discs. And they still dont

Okay.... cos 3 hits on Google for cars4sale state "Solid Rear Disks"

Oh well....

Do prado bits fit?

Probably better off sourcing a complete Prado rear end, then fabbing up spring mounts, and re gearing to suit. Not sure how wide they are tho....
