Does anyone know if the 1.6L and the 1.3L use the same head. I am in desparate need of a valve cover and can't seem to find one over here.

I've heard of people building hybrid engines using parts from both, so it's possible?

TO the best of my knowlege a 1.3 Appluse uses the same cover as a 1.6.
In fact looking at one at the wreckers awhile ago they seemed to share a common block and head ( and who knows what else ).

simply pv...i would like to find a valve cover. The previous owner tightened one corner too much and snap! Off came the corner. I don't just mean the lip but a small piece of the corner. Upon further inspection there appear to be 1 inch or so cracks on 2 of the the other corners on the inside of the cover. Was thinking about having it welded but have heard mixed opinions on it. I am just tired of the leaking oil from that back corner...any suggestions...

I've seen one successfully welded before on an Applause (same engine.) But if you've got a lot of cracks it might not be economical to repair?

yeah, if you see one simplypv, let me know. I am not in any hurry as I am fixing a blown head gasket. I'll go see what it would cost to get it welded in those spots, but I'd still like to have one that's not had to be welded, if I have a choice.
Haven't found a yard around here that has any rockys as of yet or I could go look.

You will be looking for a 1.3L applause for a whilem, as they did't have a 1.3L engine. They had the 1.6L, which was just a stroked version of a 1.3L pretty much. The rocker cover will swap from emory. I thing that the 1.3L will fit, but not totally sure. I have access to a 1.6L applause and a 1.3L charade, so will have a look in the next few days.
Layto....

Can testify the 1.3 ltr and the 1.6 ltr Applause rocker covers are the same.
Have a recycled 1.3 on my 1.6 as it was cracked when bought.
As for the charade.... I know nuthing.

thanks...the only 1.6L were in rocky's here in the U.S. with the 1.3L in some charades. Thought it would broaden my possibilities...

hey kicker, i asked around and turned up nothing. was informed that the 1.3 charade cover would indeed fit. try that as the charades are more common here in the states than the rocky.

kickingback99, Johnny Hulsey Truck Parts in Gainesville, GA had a couple of Rocky's a year ago...not sure what was left on them. There are a few running around the Atlanta, GA area. I have a co-worker who owns a Rocky, and wants to sell it.
