How many ppl only have 1 battery in thier rig and still have the winch hooked up, i know its best to run a 2nd battery just incase, but due the space problems under the bonnet of my hilux , i can only fit 1 battery atm,
im planning on getting a D34 optima yellow top.
Will this be enough, i know the CCA's etc are high enough for the winch,
later on ill try and put a 2nd battery in the tray and run it down to the front, but for now will this do ?

yeah, I just have the one 700cca, had to pull the 2nd one out due to it pissing acid everywhere :?
still pulls OK, you can definately tell the difference without the 2nd one though...

Could you put the second one in the tray of the Ute?? Sorry havent seen pics of your truck, only avitar..

I ran 1 battery, and dependin on how long and much winching your doing..

I had flat battery next morning after night run... 3 full length recoveries with Warn 10,000lb low, Lots of lights and shit on way home wouldnt have helped, but the winching is what killed it...

I run a winch with a single battery too... i guess it's just a matter of not getting carried away and trying to winch the car (without the engine on) up some massive hill etc... But really, the winch would probably prefer you not to do that either :)

Mine was an excide battery (about 600CCA's) and a warn 6000lb'er...

bogged, i will try and get a 2nd one into the tray, but later the funds just arnt there for it atm

the D34 does 750CCA at 0°F and the warn xd9000 ill be running recomends 650cca
min

Now i just gotta find room for the solinoid pack , i think it will be jammed under the bonnet somewhere

I have a single optima yella top & winch.....IMHO if you are going to have a single battery - the Optima yellow is THE way to go.

Timely topic James. I'm just about to put a winch in and was thinking of just going with a single battery too.
