Hi All,
I have Td42 Gq, I put 4.3's in a few months ago, recently turboed intercooled it and which doesnt appear to be directly related,
It pulls to the right under load, the faster (higher gear) the more noticable, if im not thinking of it when changing from 4th to 5th it will pull across half a lane???

Any ideas?
Cheers Troy

1# tyre condition. 2# wheel alignment. 3# tyre pressures. 4# bushes. 5# wheel bearings. 6# suspension in general.
check the them and go from there

Ok, it has a 5 spring lift, recently done all bushes which have coincedentaly all chewed out recently which hasnt solved any questions, another question i cant work out just yet?

Tyres are 35" Radial Claws at about 50% worn with good pressures, when i did diff change upgraded uppper and lower arms which are the same length

Does need a wheel alignment but is the rear that pushes and pulls the front....

Sounds like your diff is mis aligned, throw a tape measure between tyre when straight, make sure same measurement, also neighbour had similiar problem, front panhard rod bushes where stuffed, also if your tailshaft is on a wicked angle you might get torque steer,Cheers Paul.

I will check the distance between left and right front and rear, dont think it suspension, that has been in two years without a problem, thanks mart

Also just a thought, next time you drive it check how hot your axles are,Cheers Paul.

If you accelerate and back off and it moves each way with same it is either:

1. Worn bushes (prob panhard) Rear
2. Angle of rear axle leading arms changing due to acute angle of big lift.
(ie rear bump steer.)

my pajero is doing something similar.

its chewed out my rear trailing arm bushes.

when i accellerate the car dives one way, when i decel, it dives the other way. you can feel the rear end squirming around crazily left and right, over bumps etc.

its done it since the other night out four wheeling where a pretty heavy few bumps munched out the bushes, and caned my hydro bags on the back as well..

other than that, in my sports cars its been due to different inflated pressures or tyre diameters or simply wheel alignment.

If they are polyurethane bushes you need to use the greese that comes with them or buy some greese for them, if you don't use any greese they get chewed out fairly quick I got told when I bought some bushes.

Edit:
I installed they myself got them from autobarn, and the guy told me about the above, havn't had any problems though I havn't gone 4wding much since I put them in.

Maybe the problem is steaming from too little or no greese being used?

Have you adjusted your rear drums lately? Perhaps you adjusted one much more than the other. Or one of your brake lines is kinked or clogged. Or for another reason one of your front discs isn't braking as much, or at all.

Good luck. Turbz

Fitted these to a GQ ute - lasted four days before I had to replace them. one day driving to Collie - two days of 4wd work - one day drive home. Next day buy genuine nissan

Just a question guys,I run nissan bushes on all my link and mounts, have had no trouble,I know my car is lighter but they cost $25 each and come with grease and crush tube. Some are blue poly and yellow polyurethane,I have 20 or so and just wondering are you guys using the same Cheers Paul.

i have been told the aftermarket poly two piece ones (my nice shiny red ones) have been replaced 2 times a year prior to me buying the car.

this is the 3rd failure of such bushes.

i was recommended to get genuine mitsubishi ones.

apparently poly ones are renowned for failure due to their two piece design.

Trouble is genuine bushes cost around $400, as opposed to the $160 poly ones..

you can see why people keep going back to poly...

if someone has leads on cheap rubber ones, im interested :)

its strange people keep making poly ones when its a common issue!

if the bushes have started to give way, id pretty much definately suggest this is your problem, esp if its doing the same as mine.

i guess u could test by measuring the distance between each rear tyre towards the guard, then reverse the car against a wall slowly until the car wants to stall, hold brake on, get someone outside to measure the distances again (for left and right rear wheels), then try in forwards - push the car up against a wall until it wants to stall, hold brake on and get someone to measure the distances again.

if the movement is there, the person should be able to physically see the rear wheels move forwards and backs wards independant of the cars body. Measuring it would just confirm it if the movement isnt large enough to notice.

thats what i would do - but im 99% sure its my trailing arm bushes that are dead and causing the issue.

you must hate your bumper bars

im not talking about ramming into a wall. lol

besides steel bullbar and steel rear bar, i really dont care what i hit.

i cant be the only person here with dents on their bars? ;)

either way, put a mattress or rubber or a spare tyre or something between the wall/railing/strong fence and ur car if ur really paranoid.

you dont need to take a run up and charge at the wall - merely slowly apply a bit of pressure so the wheels torque up and try to wander.
