Just been looking around at turbo patrols and I havn't seen any intercoolers, I know that the TDs come with a TMIC style, but where are people with after market turbos stickin' em?

front mount is the most popular.

Also depends what brand of aftermarket Turbo... with some of them, you cant run over the donk due to the cross over pipe.
both have + and - (top and front), all depends on your usage

Thanks for that Bad JuJu. I've tried clicking the image button and pasting the Url then clicking the image button to close the link but when I click preview it doesn't show the pic and I haven't got a clue what's going wrong.
Anyone got any ideas on what's wrong? I've had no trouble posting pics in the past.
Regards Andrew.

Looks good I like the pipes coming straight down, that has given me an idea that I could try.
I was thinking of grabbing a TD27 intercooler setup but I was unsure about the space but the pipes coming down should work good.

Easy to set up and most people want to keep there aircon (you have to move it to get a decent size air - air in). But you right, TMIC suffer from heat soak.

and front mounts suffer from accident damage when you hit things, and mud same as radiators...
.. both have + and - lots.

well a prssure cleaner a quick blast after a 4wd will fix the mud and shave the grill so u still have some protection not just a cooler sticking out there.

Does you no good while your out 4wdin for the day/weekend/week does it? What happens when you hit a bog 10 mins into day 1? useless IC for the entire journey. infact will hold the heat in even more and work as an interheater.
As I say, front mount and top mount both have + and -
Also with most cars, GQ/GU specifically (in relation to radiator) there is so much crap infront of radiator that you cant just hose them out, you can only get about 1/4 or less from infront of car, you must remove radiator etc to totally clean them. You would really have to have the IC out in the open /damage area to be that simple to be able to hose it all out, then you risk damage from accident/rocks etc..

engine bay heat makes no differance the bonnet scoop forces cold air down though the top mount cooler pushing the hot air in the engine bay down under the car . when you fit a front mount on a 4x4 and gets full of mud & shit no air goes though anything so not only does the ic run hot so does the water temp over heating your engine and trans if its auto this is why manufacturers fit top mount coolers, even some performance cars use top mounts not because of the mud and debis thing but so the radiator can get a cooler air flow
