suzuki sj410 alternator problem

haveing trouble with alternator or the old 1000cc alternator.just bought ute got motor running and now whats happening is the little regulator on fire wall is tiking constantly when motors running and charge light on dash is pulseing with the beat.and for some strange reason the black wire comeing from the 3wire plug on the alternator is stuffing up as it has fried my loom.is just gets realy hot and starts melting stuff.has this happend to any one before?i also had trouble wth my clutch cable speedo cable and handbrake cable they all got realy hot and melted.

earthing out through cable. make sure all the earth cables are there

what do you mean by that?its the black wire off the alternator thats getting red hot and burning everything??does any one no what the black wire does?

As said above.
Make sure you have a good earth from engine to chassis/body. Clean the earthing contact points and tighten. If the engine has been changed there may be an earth cable missing. Electricity will try and use any circuit it can and in this instance it does not have a good earth circuit between the engine and body and is trying to complete the circuit through whatever is available i.e. the throttle and clutch cables etc.

now have put xtra earths on motor.but my battery charge light is stool pulseing to the little ticking sound craeted by the black box under the dash by passenger firewall.when i disconect the black wire running from alternator the sound stops.now with it conected as is with the little black box ticking when i pull the positive battery terminal off the engine dies??but when i take the black the wire off running from the alternator it will keep running but runs like crap.whats the black wire running from the alternator 4?

if you arent confident with wiring and you dont have a workshop manual to guide you. i would be taking your zook to a auto electrician.
