Just looking for a bit of lateral thinking from fellow forumites please ..

I contacted a company in QLD Fernvale to make me a rear step and single wheel carrier with reeece hitch and recovery points inc .
I was given a price of $2065 inc frieght to Perth so i paid up on Jan 22d in cash up front .

Since that time i have rung them 17 times , when i do get thru i get excuses like , there is no steel on shelf , or the steel companies haven't come back from Xmas . The owner operator has the flu , the owner operator has diabeties and is having a hard time . The owner operator has started the bar but it is just a bar nothing else done no bracing ect ect but he is sick with the flu still .

I have sent countless emails , none answered . Yet when i do get them his wife tells me she has got them . She seems very good at white washing / stories .
I have explaned to them on countless times that we are off on our family holiday on the 14th March and i needed it landed and fitted up before then .

Being over here in Perth and them in Queensland and its now the 8th of March .... I am getting a bit towie .

So I guess I am looking for your thoughts on exactly what i should do .
Outlaw from the GCLROC HAD DRAMAS WITH THIS GUY AS WELL BUT WAS LUCKY TO GET OUT WITH HIS DEFENDER , i have just now found out

Do i demand for my cash back ?
Do i give the guy more time and stuff our holiday around ?
Do I NAME AND SHAME ??

I am not really into the last one to be honest , I am more of a fair go sort but i need that carrier for the trip ...i have no where for my spare ...and i have planned this trip for 7 months with wife and kids ...we have done out the rest of the vehicle to be in best shape for the 1400 km trip

Looking foreward to your input please

cheers in advance

Hmmm thats a tricky one. Perhaps a cheap flight to Q/L to rattle some cages?

What vehicle is it for? have an ARB rear bar ioth tow hitch and wheel carrier to suit a rangie. If your really hard up and cant sort your one out and need one for you trip maybe we could sort something out. Im in perth. Im not looking to sell it but like i said if you need it to go away and dont have any joy it may be an option

cheers

Yeah i was going to offer a bounty on his testicles

I will travel the legal route Monday morning if they have not contacted me by then .
I have done a DOLA check on them and found out they are only renting and are currently looking at moving to Ipswich .
I have just finished typing up the paperwork to email thru to the Minister of Fair Trading and the Queensland Fraud Squad , with scanned copies of all corraspondance times dates ect ect .

I rang again tonight and left a message with one of the kids , as the parents just don't seem to want to answer the phone

But make NO MISTAKE if he trys to play ball , or run / hide and seek , I will offer what he owes me as a reward for removed body parts ;)
