I dont have my manuel with me can someone tell be the tightening torques for the 1st and second nuts in the wheel bearing tightening and locking nuts?

I think you just adjust the inner nut till no play in bearings,then lock nut and bend tabs over to lock the two nuts together,Cheers Paul.
BLOWNZUK 1.3 efi,sc14 supercharger,hilux diffs,detroit lockers,stage 4 rockhopper,6 point cage,35 muddies.

Iwas looking through my manual and it sais
1. Front wheel bearing nut.10-15 N-m or 7.5-10.5 Lb-ft
2.Front wheel bearing lock nut.60-90 N-m or 43.5-65.0 Lb-ft

thats how I've always done it.

Too tight is worse than too loose, as it damages bearings.

But I am rough and rarely use new parts, so best to do it by the book ;)

cheers perhaps this sould go in the bible.

I downloaded a manual it also says to tighten bearing nut right up to 50 lb turn the hub a few time losen it off to 0 and then retighten it to the specified torque.

this is most likely to make sure the bearing race is pressed on far enuff, with no hydraulic lock from grease etc, at a guess.

Hi, i find the best way is to tighten the nut up all the way and nip it up then back it right off again and then retighten it until the nut is nipped up. if your stub thread has any crap in it it will give you a false reading with the tension wrench so its best you do it by a wrench or a hub socket.

it is better to leave a little lose than too tight.
