Hi guys, great forum you have here. I love the rigs you guys have, lots of good stuff we don't get here in the states. I have been a lurker here for a bit. Thought I would post and say hi, along with ask a question.

I'm looking at a 2.5 suspension lift on eBay.

eBay ironman

I only know a little bit about Ironman from what I've read here. I was wondering what your thoughts and opinions are about the springs and shocks. I was hoping with the springs I would gain some rear articulation along with a nice bit of lift.

I'm not too concerned about the t-bars right now but heavier bars could come in handy down the road when I get winch bumper and accessories. For the price it seems pretty good to me. Do you think this kit is worth it?

Thanks
Chris

I put that kit on mine last year. Shocks are nothing special (I only got them as it was about the same price for the kit v. t/bars and springs).

It gave me a bit over 1.5" lift on the rear.

I'll probably replace the shocks with Ranchos or similar this year some time.

The handling improved out of sight, much less tail wagging on dirt roads.

Thanks for the reply fishi,

only 1.5"? thats not bad. I guess the seller was wrong when he stated a 2.5" lift o well.

Did you get better drop/articulation with the rear springs?

Did your kit come with the gas or oil shocks?

better handling is a big plus =)

thanks for the help

Bump.

I'm curious about this kit too with the HD bars and foam cell shocks.

I fitted that kit to my NH shorty late last year. It flexs ok with the rear swaybar off and so far so good. Has given me a tad over 55mm lift all up..

you should look up ironman's website for specific details re: their kits for their vehicles. They are quite comprehensive in what they show.

I've had ironman on my LC 70 series with their foamcell shocks and was very impressed with them. However, on austrlian forums, before i bought my set, I rarely read a good word about ironman's gas shocks.

Because of the experience I had I'd certainly recommend their kit with foamcell shocks.
