Two piece tail shaft?

My pathfinder weighs 1800kg. I am putting in a divorced transfer case from a 720. I have two options open to me to make it fit.
One is to cut out the rear (welded) cross member and make another one and reroute the exhaust and the other is to use a two piece tailshaft.
My question is simple... can I use a two piece shaft without problems?
Thanks in advance.

2 piece shaft, and a center bearing will do the trick. Save all that hassle of moving cross members, cos from memory nissan chassies are shits of things to weld at the best of times. Give me a bit more info and maybe i can help you out. Is it for the front or the rear shaft?

It is the rear shaft. I was worried that there may be too much load on the centre bearing whilst 4wding. It will be easy enough to install and save a shit load of hassle. The front member has to be re fabbed too, but that is easy and was expected.
Thanks for the feedback.
Cheers.
