LWB Sierra

Does the LWB Sierra have the T/C in tha same position relative to the SWB model i.e. is the front drive shaft the same length and the read drive shaft longer. I am finding the SWB model too short to fit the engine/gbox combo and was wondering if a LWB would be a better fit. I would also be interested in any info on any conversions done involving an auto that fitted into a SWB i.e. what autos are relatively compact. I may even consider an auto with T/Case say from a KIA Sportage.
