Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi all, I have a LWB Vitara and am thinking of the motorway Mongrel tires for it. I would probally go a 235/75/R15 as apparently these will fit without scrubbing and will give me a little height rise.

The question is, What are these tires like? Being retreads are they safe to run quite often? I dont really mind if their loud but are they alright on the road.

I'm in Perth so who should I contact and what should I expect to pay per tire?

Got em in the 31x10rs in muddies under the zook.

loved them for the $$ so far. seem safe to me. usually a remould not a retread. safer as well afaik.

Tyrepower in ellenbrook or talk to zooksport off perth4x4. i beleive the ellenbrook is the only dealer over here at the moment.

Craig used to do them but not at the moment but my have advice on sizes and that .

also bout 80-100ish a tyre depending. mine cost 100each for 31`'s

I might have to go 30"s now and body lift it at that price!

What are they like on the road?

bit noisy but mudders allways are. but not too bad. went awesome everywhere i pointed em.

think mainly distributers are thin on the ground.

I just rang Tyrepower in ellenbrook and got quoted $220 per tire.

Does anyone know where I can get them cheaper than that?

hey mate.Your not talking about the retreads at $220 each are you?My hilux has 32x11.5 Maxxis muddies on it which im real happy with,wear ok arent too noisy and are great in the bush.The 32's a fair size and i only paid $220 fitted and balanced each for them.shop around maybe.The mongrels are getting heaps dearer over my way too.

Which ones where they for? the monoform mongrels>? only make mongrels in 31/32 only .

Motorway muddies are like bfg style. think u may have got confused.

go the mud terrain treads.... good all round and excellent value for money.

I've had great success with mine over about 2 years and they are still going strong. They are fantastic on rocks and sloppy mud but can tend to get blocked up in clay type surfaces. means you just have to spin them harder....

I've had them down to 6psi and they are great now after they have softened up a bit. When they are new they are a little stiff due to the extra rubber on the sidewall but it also means that I haven't had any punctures either....

On the road I keep them on about 32-34psi and don't have any issues with them.

I just rang Tyrepower in Ellenbrook and asked about the Motorway remoulds in the mud terrain tread and that was the quote I got, I might ring back tomorrow and ask what the cheaper options are.

32 to 34 psi try 22 you will get a much better ride and less tread crowning ... your only supporting the weight of a Zuk, not a pootrol or crusier.

22 is street pressure.
I drop to 15 for comfort on dirt roads, and about 10 for playing.
