Question, loping off about 2-3 inchs of chassis rail off the rear on my hilux ute, legal? or do a neat job and questions wont be asked?

been told by an engineer, legal up to the point of removing the rear most cross member

Took 4 inches off mine. Up to the rear shackle mounts. Never had a problem.

Ask the bloke that will engineer it.. then you have no complaints..

Bubs is right in QLD it is legal up till the rear crossmember however it can be certified if you want to cut more.
I cut 18" off the rear of my chassie and removed both rear crossmembers and replaced themin different positions to clear suspension/mount shocks.

does anyone know if you need that tyre carrier thingy on 40/45 series cruisers? i wanna get rid of it to shorten my chassis and put another gas tank in.
