well good news is whiles trying to get to work in goomboryium on tin can bay rd the box shit itself.....

just started slipping as such the drive to the point it was going no-where...
and could smell something not right/

log book service history..

checked trany oil and black and burnt smelling...

towed to nissan gympie where i await the verdict but they reckon 7-14 day to get it back on road........

at this stage i will say if privately owning any car extended warranty is cheap at $1500 for 2 xtra years.....
and that RACQ ultra care which is $150 a year i think over $50 ish for stadard cover has paid for itself with a free hire car for 7 days......

and yes i will be when completely diagnosed tearing schreds of nissan.... getting 105 000 from the box of a $50 000 dollar car or anycar is bull shit.

and i though these boxs supposed to be bullet proof?

and the gq one was to and that farked out

am possibly hard on machinary but it supposed to be a nissan not a kia :bad-words:

anyone else had issues with this auto????????????????????????????

the gu was owned by avis hire car to 40 000kms and never had a tow bar then i have had to 105 000 (reps car mainly hiway) and towed a box trailer with moto and camping every now and again and that is it...... so nothing major....

box out and at auto specialist but no verdict yet... full points so far to the auto group in gympie who are on the trail to get nissan to come to party otherwise i'll be into it.

state and national service managers or whoever i'm supposed to chase.... i remember some one saying gail somewon from nissan is a good contact so will have to suss this...

If it`s been a hire then it may have been running around in O/D at low speed all the time and cooked it.

dont think so bud..... car is undriveable on hiway speeds her pretty much with standard tyres on with o/d off. and for it to hold for another 65 000kms before blowing is very unlikely if that was the case......

think it s possibly just a lemon

Was fluid a nice red colour all the time you had it? Did it change colour recently. I know when I got my truck fluid was a horrible brown/black. That was 20 k and a flush ago. If I hadn`t done that I don`t know what like tranny would be now You can`t blame Nissan........it`s a Jatco box.....but then again...Nissan own Jatco :D Good luck mate.

as pauline hanson would say "please explain" i drive around all the time with o/d on, the only time i take it off is if i am towing heavy loads and o/d wont stay locked in at highway speeds, ie. wants to keep unlocked and reving (as though it cant pull that high a gear) as far as i was aware o/d around town is ok as long as you dont pussy foot around and let it slowly wind up to speed in top gear only ( which i find it doesnt do anyway) i reckon around town driving and doing 60kph in o/d doesnt work the auto fluid enough to cook it, where as a towing situ as described above would be really working the auto fluid? is this a rational thought process?

Well just a quick note to say that nissan saw reason and my boss was given a part re-embursment as a good will gesture. Thankyou to val davis and the crew at Nissan Australia. It took a few months negotiating above and beyond shop front warranty people but we got there.

 My boss has now allowed me to get another Nissan.

Interesting to note while on my recent trip with nick and his manual 3.0L GU he still had people comming up in the sticks saying 'gee, a 3L, has ya gearbox dropped out yet, mine has!'

Sure enough towards the end of the Simpson, "hey, what's that banging noise". Answer. Diff rooted :finger: & then strange loud rattle from under bonnet, followed by increased fuel use and less power. Answer - Injector pump.

The 4.2L version is bullet proof, not the 3L. I hope you got the 4.2L Nissan this time otherwise you would have been better off with a Toyota

I believe, and Bingham will correct me if I'm wrong, that he is thinking of a TD Ssang Yung Musso dual cab, instead of another 3.L auto.
