hey all. i tubbed my shorty after having a hell of a lot of probs with the tyres cutting tem selfs to pieces on the rear, tubbed the arse out and now when it flexes the rear tail shaft pops off the splines on the slip joint.
i was going to get the shaft lengthend as it is a swb and i had a hell of a time with the vibration and didnt want to get a spacer. Do you think it would be a good idea to get a stronger shaft made with bigger better uni's and slip joint or just the orig uni's with a longer tube?.
has some one gone down this road, and would any one know a rough price on this??
thanks

std unis are rated to over 450 hp if all it needs is longer tube if your goin that far why not get cardan joint shaft with 6mm wall pipe that will fix all vibration problems n you will never brake the tail shaft

Can't imagine having too many problems with this set up if you cut down the rear seat belt bolts so when the tyre does rub it doesn't cut it.
How long are your rear shocks? They must be long if you're having problems with 35s rubbing.

i think i got 6" over standard pajero shocks, cant remember properly ,but i had 3" procomps and the spring was still retained tight in the sadle and the shock bottomed out, so i jacked the arse up until the springs only just had some weight on em' measured it, and searched and searched for a spring that went close to that.
