Turbo set up on a td42?

I know it's been done a million times & 'search' brings up a very long list of posts for turbo or td42.
I'm looking @ getting a standard td42 GQ ute & putting a roller-bearing Garret turbo & intercooler on it.
Any advice on the different Turbo/intercooler setups people are running on their td42's would be great.
What sort of round about price can I expect to pay for the whole set up (turbo, exhaust, cooler, etc) & can anyone here on the Sunny Coast point me in the right direction as to who would be able to do the whole exercise for me? I'm thinking Chapmans in Cooroy at this stage as I was happy what they did with my GU though like to keep my options open.
Cheers
Joe

Had one quote for BB Turbo setup $4500 = no ICooler, and another for $5400 no IC depending on what manifold you use as well... both drive in drive out.
You could do it as a back yarder for $1000 if you find the bits.
Intercoolers anything from $2.00 on ebay which most on here love (but having just replaced my GU one today and seeing how fine the core is compared to good units no fuckin way you would go cheap!), up to lots of $thousands for the water/air special..
how deep are your pockets?

Gents,
Do you need anything done to the engine (dyno tuning etc etc) if you were to just bolt on an IC to a TD42T?

Give Bluey or roger a call at Custom Offroad in Kunda park, 54562678.
They build manifolds and have done quite a few custom bb garret turbo setups. They helped me out with my build.
Cheers Heath.

An intercooler won't dp anything by itself. It will reduce the air temp and so allow more fuel to be added which will give more power, so fit intercooler and then get it on a dyno to get the best out of it. You will find that unless you do some pump mods, an intercooler won't do a lot (other than reduce temps) as the pump just can't supply enough fuel if you are running high boost. I use to have 21psi and tere was no difference between IC and non IC as it ran out of fuel above 3500 revs anyway.
The answer is hybrib pump, BB turbo and plenty of time on dyno.
