you have two buttons to activate.
Under the clock is a button with 2 squiggly lines which activates the system, you then have your steering wheel buttons which allow you to turn on/off etc by pulling towards you.

That is odd - this car does not seem to have cruise control - I understood all Disco Update V8s had cruise - my 94 models certainly did and they were base models. I knew that the earlier diesels didn't have cruise but thought all V8s did.

It doesn't matter both autos and manuals have cruise

This must be a very base model, and looking at it, its does not have cruise control. Theres no buttons on the wheel to activate it. and no actuator in the engine bay either. ( and oddly it doesnt have airbags) It has steel wheels, just about every Disco that came out in 97 had alloys.

Nothing - all disco v8s are V8is.
I thought discos about this time period came out in S, SE versions - this would seem to be a S.

I have a 1994 base model V8 manual with cruise control, six seats and mags
However there were plenty of base models of any year between 94 and 99 that had steel wheels and no cruise control when I was looking.
I even saw one V8 manual 1996 that had no cruise, steel wheels and dual airbags

No ABS that seems to go with dual airbags either.
