H260 axles

I have a friend who's got a GU with 34 splines H260. Since ARB doesn't make a locker for this diff, could he replace those 34 spliners with the 37 splines axles and then install the corresponding ARB locker? Are the axles the same diameter (38.4 mm as per the ARB catalog) ?
