Anyone interested in buying an articulator from Frank?

I am new to this forum, but have been a member of the 4x4wire for many years. I have two 1997 Monteros; one is an LS and one is an SR.

I have done some reading on here and read on the posts about the articulator that Frank had made with the air ram. I have been trying to get in touch with Frank about it, but was wondering if anyone knew if there were any more of these units available. My sway bar is 30mm in diameter.

BTW, does anyone know why there are 2 air lines going to the air ram? I thought it just needed one line for air supply and when the supply was taken away the pin was pushed back into the lock position by a spring. What is the second air line for?

Thanks everyone,

Scottie

Oh, I was also wondering if anyone had successfully installed an articulator on their rear sway bar with the air ram on a vehicle identical or similar to mine? Is it worth it or should I just remove my rear sway bar all-together? The only straight part of the rear sway bar that I see is right under the rear diff, I would think the articulator and air ram would be hit by rocks and such under there and it wouldn't be a good idea. Opinions?

Hello Scott, have you installed the 3.15 gears yet ?
I have to check what sizes we have left.
Are you absolutely sure that your front bar is 30mm ?
The swaybar diameter is absolutely critical for correct fitment.
All the SR's we have supplied in the US have been 29mm.
With the air ram one line is air supply the other line is the exhaust when disconnecting.

Frank,

I will have to get the bar diameter double checked to be absolutely sure. I will let you know shortly.

I didn't get my gears put in yet b/c my installer broke his ankle and needs to heal up before he takes my t-case out and does the install. I should be getting them in within a few weeks though and have definately been like a little kid before christmas waiting for it.

Does the exhaust line have to be connected to anything or is it just routed into the cab so dirt doesn't get in the system?

oh Frank, one more thing:

since we can hook the air ram up to an ARB compressor, I am assuming that the air ram will withstand pressures up to 105 psi??? I have a front ARB Locker in my SR and plan to use same compressor to activated locker as this air ram. Will the pressure be ok?

Hey Frank:

I got my sway bar measured by a pro, and you were right, it is 29mm exactly. Do you have any 29mm articulators available with the air ram? I will send payment right now if you have one. Talk to you later.

Is anyone else interested in buying an articulator from Frank? He doesn't have anymore 29mm units leftover and I would really like to buy one. I need to feel out the level of interest out there so maybe we can get another batch going into production. Please post up if you are interested in purchasing one.

what is the exact diameter in mm of your front sway bar? Frank will need that measurement.

yeah, I guess you could say I want to do some of that. I should have the SR ready to go by July/August time frame. I am getting my 3.15 t-case crawler gears put in next week! I am definately looking forward to wheeling with a bunch of you guys sometime this summer! We will be in touch.
