Wheel base

I know this has probably been done to death but i've never had any success with that bloody search button. :bad-words:

I'm going to be putting an A frame in the rear and an X-link in the front which i've spoken to Chad from Dobbin engineering about and he will be making longer radius arms as well.

The wheel base is about 114 inches at the moment but to get the 42s to flex the diffs have to go back and forward.

I've heard people mention about 110 inches for being the ideal length but mine is already over that. So my question is what would be the ideal wheel base for a LWB GQ patrol (duelcab)?

Would 120 or 122 inches be to much?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers Mick.

I think the ideal wheelbase is partly determined by the size of the tyres, partly by the limits of practicallity (driveline limits etc), and partly by manouverability.

Examples Stock zook on 31"s, lux on 35"s, Patrol LWB on 38"s

also what driving you do ... alittle longer is good for hills but isn't in the tight stuff

If i was you i'd try to keep it under the 114 mark if you can. I don't rock crawl but i know that for any other application 100 is the shortest you want and 115 is getting long. I'd say 122 would be start to become a hinderance for turning circle, agility and ramp over. JMO

Thanks guys

After doing some measurments at Tuff Trucks on the weekend i've worked out a way of keeping it at about 115 max.
