G'Day all!

Having some issues with my Thermo Fan clutch. Basically, it's buggered!

I remember reading a thread somewhere that the Thermo Fan Clutch off a TD42 is (a) Rebuildable and (b) will bolt straight up to a TB42 waterpump, allowing you to use this clutch assembly and rebuild when it wears out?

Has anyone heard/got info on this?

Cheers

Have you tried drilling 2 holes in it and filling it up with silicon oil from toyota and then using 2 screws to plug the holes. Did it on mine and its now great.

No, have heard some good things and some bad things about this repair.

How long have you been using yours for like that?

And how much silicon do you need? Mine's a TB42S (Carbie)

I did mine at the start of summer this year and its been fine since. What bad points could there be?? If its stuffed then filling it up cant hurt it. The only reason it may not work is if there is a bad leak somewhere. In that case u just have to buy a new one....but i would rather spend $10 first to find out.

Mine took 1.5 tubes but my mate took just under 1.

Top stuff!

Do you have to buy the Toyota Oil or can you get the same sort of stuff from an Auto Parts supplier ie Repco?

No idea i just got toyota oil. Cost me $10 a tube. Just buy 2 tubes in case. Drill the holes in the solid bits of casting ...not the fins. Also much easier if u drill 2 holes.
