is it a knocking sound?

i had a cracked floor pan under all the pedals. Welded up the cracks and all is fine now.

my gq did the same and it clunked under the floor every now n then and when i turned right, i checked mine out and found it to be 2 flogged out radius arm bushes i changed them and it has been perfect ever since, just get a big screw driver and lever your radius arms near the bushes and if u hear a clunk there is your problem

I had a similar noise in mine which I thought was body mounts but it ended up being the front right skirt spotwelds had come off the drivers from pillar.

It was easy to fix though just by welding the skirt back on. It's a pretty common problem to apparently.

Cheers Mick.

Exactly where is this skirt and pillar on the front right?

I have been looking for the source of this noise for four years now. In that time I have replaced all bushes imaginable on the vehicles front end and triple checked all body mounts. And Ive checked every square inch of flooring for cracks or loose spot welds.

Remove the body mount and check where the bolt goes through the base of the channel section underneath the floor pan for cracking. Usually the base of the channel section cracks and needs re-enforcing. Also check where the floor pan meets the firewall--just underneath the fuse box for cracks.

You have to take the front guards off and remove the plenom panel as well and you will see where the skirt joins the front pillar.

This picture will explain it a bit better.

My shortie cracked here too, I put a diagonal mount to the inner gaurd as this is the cure Nissan have adopted on the GU, if you remove the gaurd you can see, as well as welding up the cracks. I also had a loud crack that turned out to be flogged out bonnet hinge pins.
